String Hardware

String hardware is used to connect Insulators to the Tower & Conductor. The forged hardware is mainly made of heat treated steel. This steel is suitable for forging and its good performance, especially ductility, is due to the heat treatment process.

Short circuits withstand capability:

The short circuit withstand capability of the string hardware depends on the current carrying cross section, as well as the smoothness of the bolts and holes and the mechanical load applied. Furthermore the grade of steel used has some effect.

Standards:

The used bolts are according to DIN 931-grade 8.8. The split pins are made of stainless steel according to BS 3288. Standard for ball & socket is according to IEC 120.
